I have worked with Acadsoc.com for a few months now. So far, I can definitely say that it has been a very fun rewarding experience. Everyone at the company really has welcomed me with open arms and are always there if I need advice about something.

Before joining the Acadsoc team, I knew very little about online learning, only what my friends who have used the service had shared with me. However this quickly changed upon joining the team.  I have been given the opportunity to talk to numerous people in order to be fully informed of the background of the company.

I think that if ever there was a time to join an online learning team, now is definitely it. With the up and coming market in online learning the opportunities which are available in online learning are vast. I love that when working with acadsoc, I am always building on my experience and CV. Every week I carry out a different task for the team which keeps my job interesting and exciting. I get to explore topics that I otherwise would not know much about.

Working within an online learning team can also really develop one’s sense of culture. Before I joined Acadsoc, even though I was in University, part of me still didn’t see beyond my own little bubble.  When working with an online learning team you get to work with such a variety of people, from all walks of life, that I otherwise would not have come into contact with. I really am grateful for the opportunities which I have been presented with since joining the Acadsoc team. 

What Do You Think Is the Characteristics of a Good Online Tutor?

To be considered a good online tutor is somewhat of an art. First of all, being good with people automatically gets you ahead of the game, if you are not a person; do not even bother to apply. Being a tutor requires patience and willingness to give your students as much time as they need to complete a project. By adding extra pressure toward your students creates stress which in turn puts more negative thoughts in your pupils head. It is a great way to earn extra money and ensuring you fit all the required boxes, you can make a decent profit from it.  You will also need to treat your students with respect and in turn they will respect you, I have seen it time and time again if a teacher is doing all they can to pick holes in somebodies work then you do not wish to motivate yourself for this person. t is important that online teachers should be able to reveal to students any form of tricks and errors always made concerning the topic of a lesson. This will impart confidence in their students wherever they go because they will have vast knowledge.

Gain your pupils respect and understand that every student is different, some like to complete their work on the same day and some may struggle and take weeks. Offer regular advice and offer yourself for help whenever your pupil needs it, nothing says job satisfaction more than going above and beyond to be there for your student. I believe that an effective online teacher requires students to participate in discussion board topics and small group projects, this ensures the student does not stray from the lesson plan and it replicates the sense of involvement you get in a face-to-face class and it will motivate the student. Also, it's imperative for the elearning course materials to be well-organized and easy to navigate. Being comfortable on technology is essential, being able to work the programs and understand the powers of the internet will be key to providing an excellent online tutoring session.

Why Should You Choose to Study Online?

Why should you choose to study online? Surely the question here is; Why not study online? Imagine; learning just as much from the comfort of your own home as you would in a lecture theatre, (if not more,) and never having to leave the couch!!

Online study means that you are in charge of your education. Where you learn, what you learn and when you learn. Unfortunately for us, it does mean that those long lists of excuses are now useless. There is no reason why we wouldn’t choose to study on line. You can study at anytime- when it is convenient for you. And you can literally study anywhere! Whether that is from your kitchen table or, (if you have gone on holidays,) from the other side of the world. 

On line study is readily accessible- all you need is a computer and internet connection.Another great reason why you should choose online distance learning is the time and money that you could save. With online study, you will not have the worry of travelling back and forth to an education centre, and you also have the option of working whilst you study. If you are a mature student, there is no reason why you should have to quit your job to study. Online study allows you the opportunity to fit your studies in around your job.

Although with online study, the student is not necessarily on campus that does not mean that they will not have the full support of an institution. Most institutions who offer an online study facility have huge networks of support for their students to use and take advantage of. Online support networks often consist of hints and tips of how to be successful in your studies, as well as access to fellow students.
